The main seat sealing ring material for ball valves is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which is environmentally friendly to almost all chemicals and has comprehensive characteristics such as low friction coefficient, stable performance, resistance to aging, wide temperature range, and excellent sealing performance. However, the physical properties of polytetrafluoroethylene, including its high coefficient of expansion, sensitivity to cold flow, and poor thermal conductivity, require the design of valve seat seals to revolve around these characteristics.

Sealing instructions for ball valves

The main seat sealing ring material for ball valves is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which is environmentally friendly to almost all chemicals and has comprehensive characteristics such as low friction coefficient, stable performance, resistance to aging, wide temperature range, and excellent sealing performance. However, the physical properties of polytetrafluoroethylene, including its high coefficient of expansion, sensitivity to cold flow, and poor thermal conductivity, require the design of valve seat seals to revolve around these characteristics.
The plastic materials used for valve seat sealing also include filling with polytetrafluoroethylene, nylon, and many other materials. However, when the sealing material becomes hard, the reliability of the seal will be compromised, especially in the case of low pressure difference. In addition, synthetic rubber such as Gongqing rubber can also be used as valve seat sealing materials, but the medium it is suitable for and the temperature range of use are subject to eye control. Additionally, if the medium is not lubricated, using synthetic rubber can easily trap the sphere.
